A glove is a garment  covering the whole hand Gloves have separate sheaths or openings for each finger and the thumb, if there is an opening but no (or a short) covering sheath for each finger they are called finger less gloves. Finger less gloves having one large opening rather than individual openings for each finger are sometimes called gauntlets though gauntlets are not necessarily finger less. Gloves which cover the entire hand or fist but do not have separate finger openings or sheaths are called mittens. Mittens are warmer than other styles of gloves made of the same material because fingers maintain their warmth better when they are in contact with each other. Reduced surface area reduces Heat loss.

Safety helmets are one of the most frequently used forms of PPE. Safety Helmets will protect the user’s head against: impact from objects falling from above, by resisting and deflecting blows to the head.n many industrial working environments, for example, mining, power, construction, and forestry, the risk of head injury to workers is constantly present. The most serious risks are physical injuries, which can be as a result of the impact of a falling object or collision with fixed objects at the workplace. Due to the nature of these work activities, it is not always possible to eliminate such risks with just appropriate organisational solutions or collective protective equipment. Therefore, the only way to ensure the safety of workers is by using safety helmets.

Wear clothing made from heavyweight, tightly woven, 100% wool or cotton to protect from UV radiation, hot metal, sparks and open flames. Flame retardant treatments become less effective with repeated laundering.Keep clothing clean and free of oils, greases and combustible contaminants.Wear long-sleeved shirts with buttoned cuffs and a collar to protect the neck. Dark colours prevent light reflection.Tape shirt pockets closed to avoid collecting sparks or hot metal or keep them covered with flaps.Pant legs must not have cuffs and must cover the tops of the boots. Cuffs can collect sparks.Repair all frayed edges, tears or holes in clothing.Wear high top boots fully laced to prevent sparks from entering into the boots.

Choose a tight fitting helmet to help reduce light reflection into the helmet through the space between the shell and the head.Wear the helmet correctly. Do not use it as a hand shield.Protect the shade lens from impact and sudden temperature changes that could cause it to crack.Use a cover lens to protect the filter shade lens. Replace the cover lens if it gets scratched or hazy.Make sure to replace the gasket periodically if your helmet uses one.Replace the clear retaining lens to protect your eyes from broken pieces.Clean lenses periodically.Discard pitted, cracked or damaged lenses.
